Shelter
The mangroves and water are a scene from Coonarr Creek, just south of Bundaberg. I have a lot of good memories at Coonarr beach and creek, so it was really enjoyable to revisit this place, and to capture the crystalline sea-glass green waters, with a storm coming in. It was the perfect setting for the tealight candles bobbing in the shelter of the mangrove banks.
Painted in watercolours and gouache on a 55cm diameter round of rough Khadi paper. This piece is custom framed in a square slim black frame (seen in right side of last image).
